Made by a pastor, for pastors

Ministry is people.Steward runs the rest.

The follow-ups, the serving texts, the welcomes, the run of show, the reminders nobody remembers to send. Steward handles them in the background, so you can give your attention to the people in front of you.

For youth ministries first, then medium-sized churches.

The weight

You didn't go into ministry to manage a spreadsheet.

  1. It lives everywhere.Group texts, sticky notes, three spreadsheets, and your memory at 11pm.
  2. Something always slips.A visitor who never got a call. A volunteer who never got the reminder.
  3. Steward holds all of it.Every promise gets an owner, a date, and a nudge.

It notices

No one drifts away unnoticed.

  1. Check-in counts everyone.Every Sunday and Wednesday, Steward knows who came and who is new.
  2. It sees who is missing. The care radar shows who hasn't been seen and who hasn't been contacted.
  3. It hands it to the right person.A follow-up lands on her shepherd's list, with a date.
  4. And makes sure it happens. Two days late, a reminder. A week late, their coach hears.

Two sides, one system

Students tap once. Leaders see what to do.

Student app coming soon

  1. The student app is the front door.Simple enough that students actually open it.
  2. A prayer request becomes care.It reaches their shepherd as a follow-up, not a message lost in a feed.
  3. Checking in becomes attendance. And attendance feeds the care radar.
  4. Signing up becomes a registration. With the count, the waitlist, and the budget kept in step.

It asks

Sunday staffs itself.

  1. Schedule the team.Fill open slots respects blockout dates, limits, and fairness.
  2. Everyone gets a text.Several spots become one message, never between 8pm and 8am.
  3. They reply YES or NO.No app, no password, no login.
  4. No answer? A gentle nudge. And a reminder the day before.
  5. A no opens the spot.Someone else picks it up before Sunday, not during it.

It runs itself

Your way of doing ministry, on rails.

  1. Something happens.A new student is added. Someone becomes a leader. A guest is teaching.
  2. The protocol starts on its own.Every step, timed from that moment.
  3. Texts send themselves.Only to people who agreed, never late at night.
  4. Each step finds its person.@shepherd and @coach become real names, on their list, on the right day.

It remembers

Every lesson learned shows up next time.

  1. An hour after it ends, everyone who served gets one 30-second review. Never between 8pm and 8am.
  2. What to keep. What to change.Repeats are counted, so what keeps coming up rises to the top.
  3. Plan it again, and it's waiting. The notes are on the page, and the leads hear a few days ahead.

On the day

Your host never misses a line.

  1. The run of show, full screen. One moment at a time, with a timer for each part.
  2. Scripts fill themselves in.If the retreat moves, what the host says moves with it.
  3. Announcements carry the ask.Date, place, and a sign-up code on screen.

It celebrates

It remembers what God did, too.

Questions

Before you ask.

Is our church's information kept separate from other churches?

Yes. Every church runs on its own copy of Steward with its own database. No other church can see your people, your notes, or your files.

What happens to our data if we stop using Steward?

It stays yours. Admins can download a full backup any time, and a church is never locked out of its own information.

How does texting work?

Each plan includes a monthly number of texts from a number set up for your church. If you already use Twilio, connect your own account instead and texting has no limit, billed by Twilio directly. Steward only texts people who have agreed to it, and never between 8pm and 8am.

Do volunteers need to download an app?

No. Volunteers can answer by text and use a private link to confirm, ask for a sub, or pick up open spots, with no password.

When is the student app coming?

It is being built now. Beta churches will get it first, and everything students do in it flows into the leader side you saw above.

Can Steward live on our own website address?

Yes, on the Church + Your Domain plan. You add one record at your domain provider, and Steward moves to an address like app.yourchurch.org.

Can we bring our people in from Planning Center or a spreadsheet?

Yes. Import a CSV and Steward matches the columns, shows exactly what will change, and never overwrites what is on file unless you choose to.

Who is behind Steward?

Steward is made by Josh Terada, a youth pastor who built it for his own ministry first.
